What is the GI rating of One Square Meal?

One Square Meal was tested by the University of Otago's accredited GI research facility. It has a low glycaemic index - with a rating of 50, which is in the GI bracket officially set as being 'low'.

Prior to designing One Square Meal, we looked at a huge number of cereal bars on the market here and overseas and found that the one thing they all lacked was balance. For example those claiming to be low fat were often ridiculously high in sugar. These bars tend to be bound together with white sugar and glucose syrup. The flow on from this is they generally have a high glycaemic index causing a spike in your blood sugar followed by a crash which leaves you craving for more. Hard to balance your energy intake with energy output when your blood sugar level is up and down like a yo yo.

In designing One Square meal, we chose only natural sugars present in dried fruit and honey to give our product flavour and sweetness. We combined these with a perfectly balanced amount of complex carbohydrates, protein, dietary fibre and healthy fats to give a product which gives you energy in a sustained way. One Square Meal has a low glycaemic index, keeping your blood sugar levels balanced as well as your nutrition.
